‘’To me the beauty of music is its ability to impact and mirror the soul as a result of its abstraction. My goal is cultivating a non judgemental, genuinely curious and open mind. This enables me to love learning and performing in a free way.”

Born in Holland, I began playing the cello at a young age. Early on I developed an autonomous and creative personality. Growing up on a farm allowed us a lot of freedom. My family encouraged us to explore the land and connect with the animals, which made us grounded and curious.
After completing my undergraduate diploma in The Netherlands, I moved to England where I did a postgraduate degree at the Royal College of Music in London.
Over the last period, I have enjoyed playing private chamber music concerts and teaching a varied group of both young and older cello students. It has been great to connect with people online, doing communal practice sessions as well as one to one cello lessons. I have started to write down my thoughts in the form of a little book on what I think and do to stay mindful and with excitement for exploring all that is possible on the cello. I also like to play for people who are for any reason bed bound and like to have a concert anyway.
My multi-faced musical career is testament to my constant desire both for personal growth, and for finding new ways to communicate with my audience.
I get energised and excited by the interaction with fellow artists, pupils, and by contact with my audience. My great interest in people and their interpretation of art and life allows me to develop and learn constantly as a teacher. My mission is to both provoke a reaction and to bridge the gap between audience and performer.
My practice of being curious and keeping mindful, coincides with my conviction that, as human beings we have an endless capacity to learn. As a cellist, I have performed with some of London’s major orchestras, as well as playing chamber music concerts throughout Europe. Being an all-round musician, I have performed with a wide range of artists from various creative disciplines, ranging from painters and actors to fellow musicians, and covering an extensive repertoire that encompasses early music, jazz, improvisation, folk, and contemporary compositions.
